For over 100 years, Maguire Iron has been an industry leader in the fabrication, construction, and maintenance of water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The Shop Laborer will perform a variety of tasks within the fabrication shop.

Position Duties

• Cleans and lubricates equipment, maintains a manufacturing area free from debris and dirt, and readies or puts away tools as assigned.
• Closely follows directions to operate machinery, hold or supply materials and tools, and load or unload items on machinery.
• Cares for property by repairing yard, shoveling and removing snow.
• Using an oxygen acetylene torch, cuts steel scrap material and carries to bin to assist with burn table operations.
• Fills in blaster for continuing blast booth operations if full-time blaster is absent.
• Performs any unskilled job at the fabrication shop.
• Reports any issues to supervisor or higher-level employee.
• Performs other duties assigned

Position Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to listen, understand and follow directions.
• Ability to work in a variety of roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Job training for this position is provided by department trainer.
