Negotiated Pricing Estimator

For over 100 years, Maguire Iron has been an industry leader in the fabrication, construction, and maintenance of water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The Negotiated Pricing Estimator will provide assistance to Regional Sales Representatives entering in customers, tank information and price negotiated projects and contracts. Duties include pricing and addressing customer concerns.  They will also maintain an updated knowledge of company goals, vision and values to insure effective prioritizing. This person will help with technical questions related to the maintenance of water storage tanks and other potable water infrastructure.  

Essential Functions:

  • Provide support and pricing to the outside sales representatives.
  • Review photos and documentation to make sure that the proper coating and repairs are being priced.
  • Help coordinate and execute contract from the pricing database.
  • Keep updated customer information in the database.
  • Run reports to track sales pricing activity
  • Provide Support to operations for colors and logo needs.
  • Attend tradeshows to help support the sales representatives when required.
  • Meets needs and internal or external customers within available resources; takes steps to identify customers’ needs and expectations; involves stakeholders in decision making and problem solving; Monitors customer satisfaction; looks for ways to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate openness to change and new ideas; take a constructive approach to identifying and addressing problems related to change; adjust successfully to changing work requirements; respond positively to new situations; help others through change.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as construction bid specifications and contracts, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a support role or equivalent combination of education and experience in the water tank industry.
  • Estimating and ERP experience highly desired.
  • Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The ideal candidate must have a working knowledge of all job-specific operating procedures, be extremely quality conscious and detail-oriented, accept responsibility and accountability for own actions, can work independently with minimal supervision, be able to build solid relationships with internal and external customers, be dependable and trustworthy, and have advanced computer skills.

Work Environment:

  • Majority of the time is spent in an office environment.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
