Vice President of Sales

For over 100 years, Maguire has been an industry leader in the fabrication, construction, and maintenance of water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The Vice President of Sales reports to the CEO and is responsible for leading all sales efforts across the company. This role focuses on driving current sales performance and leads strategies for future growth. Key duties include; managing sales strategy, oversees sales team performance, drives revenue targets, pricing, compensation, and market competitiveness. The VP of Sales ensures all sales activities and sales strategies align with the company’s goals, vision, and values to achieve maximum profitability and growth.

Essential Functions:

• Build up and maintain sales team’s knowledge and expertise in the water tank industry.

Oversee sales training and time management strategies to drive growth within our core water tank product categories and market segments.

• Analyze Maguire’s strategic business plan and forecast annual sales projections on the number of sales to close per year.

• Research and stay up to date on a wide range of financing programs and options relevant to water tank customers, including identifying and leveraging key funding sources.

• Play a key role in shaping the tactical direction of the sales organization by aligning business goals with sales targets, and developing actionable plans to achieve revenue growth.

• Attain targeted profit margins as determined by business goals.

• Working with Business Development and Estimating teams to develop and execute comprehensive strategic and tactical plans to support the short and long-term sales and revenue plans of the organization.

• Develop, implement, and monitor performance for the sales organization against key performance metrics.

  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship to Regional Sales Managers, focusing on performance optimization and developing a robust talent pipeline to support future growth in the water tank market.

• Travel with Sales Representatives to best understand the needs and/or problems of key customers / customer groups, and to ensure that sales strategies and actions will meet their needs.

  • Must possess a steady career progression as a top sales performer.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing preferred.
  • Requires 10+ years of progressive, directly related sales experience, in the water tank industry or similar industry
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as construction bid specifications and contracts, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Possess strong analytical abilities and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, strong administrative skills, the ability to multi-task, and knowledge of systems and PC skills (INFOR and Microsoft Office, etc.)

Work Environment:

  • Majority of the time is spent in an office environment.
  • Must be able to climb up to heights of 200 feet.
  • Frequently required to sit, squat, talk and hear. 
  • Constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. 
  • Adhere to Maguire Iron’s PPE Policy and Safety Programs.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities. Requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
