Shop Maintenance Technician, Weekdays - Fabrication Shop
For over 100 years, Maguire has been an industry leader in the fabrication, construction, and maintenance of water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The Maintenance Technician will safely perform electrical and mechanical maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting, including routine and preventive maintenance, on all plant facilities, equipment, and buildings.
Essential Functions:
- Perform preventative maintenance – regular inspections of oil, grease, clean and/or repair equipment.
- Ability to respond quickly to repair and fix equipment, get it up and running as quickly as possible.
- Order spare parts, replacement parts, and other materials with approval from the supervisor.
- Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
- Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
- Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
- Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
- Ability to work without direct supervision and in a team environment.
- Communicate with supervisor and ownership about ongoing issues and the ability to provide resolution.
- Collaborates with the product manager or plant engineer regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required.
- Makes necessary modifications and implements test runs; confers with the product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Technical School diploma in electrical or mechanical field preferred.
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record.
- Must be able to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Strong working knowledge of typical electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of welder and fabrication equipment and machines.
- Skill and knowledge in overhead cranes, rollers and presses.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
Work Environment:
- Must be able to work outside in both a hot and cold environment.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- Required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk.
- Adhere to Maguire’s PPE Policy and Safety Programs.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work with ladders, catwalks, and in confined spaces.
